it sits horribly with me that a cis storyteller looks at their transman character and goes “she’s trying to look like a boy, and ineffectually”
it’s saying that you don’t get the respect of correct pronouns until you are trans the way i say you should be trans
it’s saying you don’t get the respect of having your identity until you conform to the ways i think your identity should exist
it’s saying do this the way i deem it correctly done, or else
look at all the trans masc people who get laughed off as “tomboys” or “trying to be butch” or “needing to get laid” and tell me it’s not a goddamn problem
look at all that and tell me what kind of gall you have to have to look at your trans man character and go “you just need to try harder and better” in order to get called the right pronouns
