In Skyrim’s slut-shaming mission, you’re in the city of Riften and meet an innkeeper named Haelga and her niece, Svana. Svana complains that Haelga has been sleeping with some of her customers in the name of Dibella, the goddess of love. She’s unamused that her aunt’s getting more action than she is, so she charges you to find proof that she’s sleeping around and “rub her nose in it,” because Svana is bad at phrasing. You immediately agree to help her out, because it’s not like you have anything better to do in a world in the middle of a dragonocalypse.

Her aunt basically keeps her as a slave. Svana just wants to have dirt on Haelga so that she can have more freedom.

Fun fact: Markarth has a temple devoted to Dibella, the inner sanctum of which is available only to the initiated, and to be initiated, you have to be female, probably because Dibella is the goddess of love and beauty. In fact, if you get caught in the sanctum, being a male or an uninitiated female, they threaten your life but allow you to live if you rescue a young girl who is meant to become the next Sybil of Dibella, and be the only living person capable of hearing directly from Dibella herself. 

The reason why Haelga is worried about her sexual escapades being revealed is because at least one of her partners is married, and one of them even makes a comment about “she must have put something in my drink” which, if true, would make her a rapist on top of a homewrecker, and that would not make her very popular around town, to put it mildly. And Svana’s intentions are getting back at Haelga for her mistreatment, and have nothing to do with jealousy. In fact, if you listen to one of their conversations together, Haelga says that Svana should have more casual sex, but Svana replies that she is saving herself for someone special, to which Haelga comments that the man she’s saving herself for will just use her and leave her.

Bottom line, Haelga’s a bitch, Svana has suffered her aunt’s cruelty long enough, and whoever wrote this article is very clearly misinformed and I would go so far as to say virgin shaming.
