So my (boy)friend is a Transguy: Basics
- Don’t say things like “grow some nuts” or “man up” or “be a real man” because believe me, we think that enough.
- Don’t point out his binder unless he specifically asks you. HE KNOWS IT’S THERE.
- Do not tell him if he passes or not. No one asked you.
-Do not give him tips on how to pass unless he asks. Please.
- Don’t tell anyone his birthname/ out him/ talk about him in a way that depicts how he used to present. This could be very dangerous.
- Don’t ask questions about our transition without pre-established consent. Our bodies and minds are our business.
- Finally, just treat him like you would any other guy. Because he is. We notice special treatment too.
