Banana Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients:
- ½ c. butter
- 1 egg
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 1 c. mashed banana (about 3 bananas)
- 1 ¼ c. flour
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. melted butter
Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients:
- ¼ c. butter, softened
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 2 c. cream cheese
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
- Combine butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla; mix well.
- Blend in baking powder and salt.
- Stir in banana.
- Blend in flour.
- Turn into greased 9x13x2 in. pan.
- Mix remaining butter and brown sugar and spoon over batter evenly.
- Bake at 350 for 40min.
Frosting:
- Cream butter and cream cheese.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla; beat well
- Spread over cooled bars.
Note: When I made mine I didn’t use even half the frosting that this produced by this recipe and I think it’s pretty dang perfect as is. Any more and it’s sweetness overload. This is a super simple recipe and they are amazingly delicious and worth the dishes I now I have to wash.
