Fully grown Nidoqueen are as fierce as they are rare. Staunchly protective of their young and possessing a range of poisonous toxins, this huge burrowing pokemon is a dedicated mother, going to almost any length to protect her young Nidoran.

The final growth spurt in a female Nidoran’s life  occurs when exposed to certain ore and minerals, without which a juvenile Nidorina’s development will remain stunted. Once exposed to regular proximity with the necessary ore, commonly referred to as ‘Moon Stone’ due to their crystalline appearance, Nidorina develop their teats as well as a more rigid spinal structure, allowing them to move around on two legs more easily. They also develop hundreds of tiny, free floating bones under the skin which act as armour, helping to absorb shock and damage when in combat.
